Pastor Appreciation Month

The month of October is Pastor Appreciation Month.  It is not an easy task being a shepherd.   It takes prayer without ceasing, vision, diligence, courage, an abundance of love, energy, fearlessness, etc. to watch over God’s flock.  Let’s lift up our leaders to God, for the task is great.  In a world that is growing increasingly hostile to Christianity, they need us to keep them in prayer.  Let us become lay members that will help our pastor through prayer, obedience to leadership, and kingdom building.  Take the time to let your pastor know how much you appreciate their time and efforts.  Just like all of us, pastors need to be encouraged.  They have periods of loneliness, doubt, uncertainty, weakness, anxiety, and sadness. Yes, they are annointed to perform the duties of this office, but they are still human.   Send a card, buy a gift, make a call to let them know that they have your support (and mean it).

“And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.”  Ephesians 4:11-13
