Proverbs 3:5 tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.” During this political season we should seek God about whom we will cast our ballots. Undoubtedly, we all will not receive the same direction and that is okay. Sometimes Christians disagree. (For more on Christians disagreeing see Acts 15, Paul & Barnabas) God’s ways and thoughts are far above our own. No matter what our personal opinions, political affiliations, principles or loyalties, according to 1 Timothy 2:2 we are to pray for our leaders. We are to pray for anyone that has authority over us, even the ones that we do not particularly care for. Romans 13:1 “Remember God is the only lawmaker and judge…” James 4:12 NCV Leaders everywhere can be strengthened by our prayers.
