I voted yesterday and I am so glad I did. For the first time, I felt like my vote really counted (politically). It was an amazing experience to watch the news yesterday; I experienced so many emotions as I waited to hear that Barack Obama is our next president. I felt like it was a new birth. So many mentalities were rebirthed as what was once considered impossible became reality.

I know i’m only thirteen but they say our vote counts in a way too. We are a part of the united states too. We worry about the economy and what it’s gonna be like when we are able to drive and vote.

Imagine what our parent’s generation must be feeling right now. They actually experienced many of the injustices that we have only read about. So, as poignant as this moment in history is for us, I as so grateful to God that they were able to witness a change as pivotal as this one in their lifetime. My children will see children that look like them in the White House!!! That is amazing!
