We must remember that the weapons that we are at war against are not carnal. This is spiritual warfare. (Eph. 6) Our adversary never takes a break and neither can we. We can’t talk about the world just as we did when we were in the world. It is not about slaying Jay-Z. It is about attack and counter attack. Jay-Z has allowed himself to be a conduit of the enemy. We too have to be conduits…for Christ. The body of Christ can no longer be passive. Passivity is an open door for the enemy to operate. Jesus didn’t apologize to the Pharisees. He challenged them. If we are so focused on “me, my four, and no more” we might as well throw in the towel.

Of course we need to educate our children. The reason that a major portion of them don’t want know Jesus is because they are turned off by hypocritical, passive, and inconsistent examples placed before them. Too many believers are passive and stand on the thought that God will protect a believer from being deceived in he is true and faithful, is in itself a “deception,” because it throws a man off. guard, and ignores the fact that there are conditions on the part of the believer which have to be fulfilled for God’s working. god does not do anything instead of a man, but by the man’s co-operation with Him; neither does He undertake to make up for a man’s ignorance, when He has provided knowledge for him which will prevent him from being deceived. In short, the concern is not just the unbeliever in this situation. All the enemy wants, needs is an open door to begin his work in changing the believer into an unbeliever.

The song, Empire State of Mind, was an anthem for the NY Yankees. Millions of people having been singing and declaring into the atmosphere the following lyrics: Jesus can’t save you life starts when the church ends. It transcended race, socioeconomic classes,etc. People like the song, including “Christians”. Make no mistake, this is not a personal attack on Jay-Z. It would not matter if it was your father, mother, the neighborhood drunk or anyone else. When the deity and the redemptive work of Christ is challenged we must stand. We are called to be light in darkness. As believers, we need to stop walking around as if there are dimmers on our lights. Either our light is on or off.

you are correct. There is no doubt in my mind that we as Christians have to defend the gospel,we should not give the enemy too much credence. First of all educate the children. A major portion of our youth act or seem like they don’t know who Jesus is and don’t want to know. JZ is another out for adults to criticise. Really we as adult Christians need to show who we are in Christ,then folk wouldn’t fall for just anything just because of the bling bling. It starts at the cross,not at a studio.Next it radiates thrrough Born Again,Holy Ghost Filled,Fire Baptized men,women,girls, and boys who aren’t afraid of the Gospel ofJesus Christ.

Indeed he is an entertainer. However, we as Christians are charged to defend the gospel. These lyrics are indeed a mountain! The “off hand” lyrics call to question the redemptive work that Jesus Christ did on the cross. Those lyrics are not any different from Dan Brown’s Davinci Code calling Christ’s life, death, burial and resurrection into question. It was and still is the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ that saves us from the wrath of sin and death. This salvation is by faith alone. If we, the body of Christ, do not defend the gospel how are we to fulfill the Great Commission? How can we go out into hedges and highways and compel anyone, including Jay-Z? We are not just saved for ourselves. We are saved for purpose. Sheep begat sheep but, we can’t “begat” anyone if we are ashamed to name the name of Christ even at the costs of no longer going along just to get along.
