It is finally here! The new album from Kierra “KiKi” Sheard is in stores and online today! But, don’t call her KiKi anymore, Sheard now 21 is all grown up. Sheard was born into a family full of gospel legends in their own right. She is the daughter of Karen Clark Sheard, of the Clark Sisters fame, and the granddaughter of the legendary Dr. Mattie Moss Clark.
Kierra grew up in Detroit and sang in the choir as a young girl in the church where her father, Rev. J. Drew Sheard, preached. At the age of nine she appeared on the hit single “The Safest Place,” a duet with her mother from the successful Finally Karen record. At the age of 17 she released her debut album, I Owe You, combining the worlds of gospel, hip-hop, and soul into a contemporary sound that’s both reverent and fresh. It was followed in 2006 by This Is Me.
Take a listen to Praise Him Now, the first single from her new album, Bold Right Life and be sure to request it on the radio. Look for the full album review soon.
